Unfortunately, eating disorders are much to common these days. The unrealistic expectations our young women are constantly exposed to can lead to unhealthy self-image of perfectly healthy and beautiful girls. Thank you for sharing the story of your challenge and ultimate healing you went through with Morgan.
We were lucky to have a brief episode with the illness. It could have easily escalated into years of denial of food. I’m glad went got to a professional quickly to help. Sadly, I know many adults still struggling.
beautifully said...I met a young woman photographer couple of years ago who had overcome this...all she is photographs now are girls that are struggling with this to help build their confidence and share their story.
Eating disorders are frequently misunderstood by people on the outside looking in, and anorexia is so often dismissed, when it is a terrible thing for anyone who lives with it. Thanks be to God you were able to bring her through Pam. Thank you for sharing this from your book.🙏
I have a granddaughter who struggles with anorexia. It started in high school and continued until about six months ago. Hers started from a comment by her then boyfriend. And continued with other boyfriends. She is almost thirty years old and finally has a young man who gives her positive and moral support about her weight. She has never been "overweight" but when she looked at herself in the mirror she saw herself different than the real reflection. Thank you for giving others hope and faith through your guiding hands in your book Grace for Grief.
I have a family member and a good friend who've battled anorexia – such a tough, scary disease! Both appear to be recovered now, fortunately. Thanks for sharing this, Pam.
Thank you for sharing this important post about Morgan, faith, healing, and her eating disorder. Your book GRACE FOR GRIEF is a wonderful way to honor her and to help others!

My prayers have always been answered, but not always the way I expected them to be. Sometimes we have to let go and let God. Beautiful post!
It’s hard to let go when you have been the fixer all your life. I’ve learned sometimes it’s not up to me.

What a brave person to photograph those girls. Bless them for the journey they are on.

Such a poignant post. Life altering, page turning story, one of many in your book. Well done.
Thanks Cat. Discussions are needed to help others that are struggling.

Thanks Mary Jo. It’s such a hard disease to battle because it’s in the mind. We were lucky to only have a short time with it.

Thanks Julie. It’s a subject that we need to be talking about with others.
It does need to be talked about and brought into the open. You are doing a much-needed service by doing so!
Thanks so much Julie
